Lean body mass and strength has many health benefits: reducing insulin resistance, increasing resting metabolic rate, preventing frailty and loss of bone density, and possibly reducing the risk of death should a disease occur such as cancer or heart failure. Plus, it is very handy to be able to lift things yourself and open jars!  Feeling a little low energy or "blue" during the 300 days of gray?  There's nothing like lifting something heavy over your head to get a natural "high"! Replace your sugar or phone or other habit with a craving for the natural dopamine surge that comes from the primal movement of lifting a weight.  This class is essential for women and men and has scaled options. Progress from the FUNdamentals class to the Building Better Bodies Class and then add the Strength & Conditioning Class.  Intended for 3 -4 days per week. The workout is the same for 2 days in a row. For example, Monday classes are the same as Tuesday classes, Wednesdays are the same as Thursday classes, and Friday classes are the same as Saturday classes.  Alternate with the Building Better Bodies, Recovery, or Metabolic/Core for a 5-6 day spread.

Strength: Various modalities to improve strength and skeletal muscle: dumbbells, barbells, kettlebells, TRX and body weight.

Conditioning: Metabolic exercises for cardiovascular fitness and metabolic health.
